Zandu Ya Ciné

Libreville, Gabon → Brazzaville, Congo · 2026

Zandu Ya Ciné

Institut français du Gabon (STARTER #2), puis hall de l'IFC

Winner of the Archives Vivantes programme, Rahim Lascony reimagines classics of African cinema in three dimensions — "La vie est belle", "La petite vendeuse du soleil", "La chapelle". Sculpture, ceramics, painting and everyday objects merge into immersive scenes, accompanied by a cycle of film screenings. Presented exclusively in Libreville for STARTER #2 (May–June), the exhibition then settled in the hall of the Institut français du Congo in Brazzaville (July).

Le Regard de l'espoir

Pointe-Noire, Congo · 2023

Le Regard de l'espoir

Institut Français du Congo (IFC)

The artist's first solo exhibition, from 9 February to 25 March 2023: twenty-six acrylic paintings on canvas, ranging from 40 × 35 cm to 170 × 126 cm. Around the series "Ba Mama Moziki" and "Les Vieux du Quartier", the artist pays tribute to the resilience of Congolese women and the elders of Bacongo, echoing International Women's Rights Day.

Brazzaville, Congo · 2023

Visual arts installations

Eudes Gallery & UN-HCR

Installations that metamorphose reclaimed materials — newspapers, everyday objects — into hybrid figures: the recycler's gesture extends the painter's.

Murs de la ville — Pointe-Noire & Kinshasa

Murals at the scale of the neighbourhood: Sapeurs and elders of Bacongo dress the façades of Pointe-Noire and Kinshasa, bringing to the walls the popular elegances celebrated on canvas.
